Flight Sim Build #1: Saitek Instruments

After purchasing a few Saitek instrument panels, I finally had a chance to put them together to build a test rig, to figure out what parts I would actually need to build my own system from scratch. It’s kind of messy, but the ultimate goal is to utilize existing aircraft components and custom make the rest using an Inventables X-Carve CNC, Makerbot 3D Printer and eventual laser cutter for fabrication.

Much research to get the Saitek panels working with X-Plane. I got it all working by using X-Plane.org and buying the Saitek panel plugins. Didn’t expect to have to use those, but they work great now. Ready for step 2, tearing this down and starting over with Build 2!
