We had a wonderful visit with a Southwest Pilot this weekend, Heidi Hitzeman. She was generous enough to give me some 737-800 tips and pointers to flying and landing one of these beasts in my humble simulator. We quickly determined that my flaps control only goes to flaps 15, when we needed to go to flaps 40. It was a blast flying with the analog panel and try to determine what our real airspeed was, as we were well over what my airspeed indicator would show.
Besides doing some exhilarating practice landings in San Diego International, we did some ridiculous landing practice in St Barths and Heidi taught me some pattern work in the 737.
